Your Haitian Cousin 🇭🇹

Meet Kadoh

Mwen se Kadoh!

Heyyy, it’s your Haitian cousin Kadoh! 🇭🇹💛 And today I want to tell you a little bit about why I started this journey and why I do what I do.

Kreyòl with Kadoh honestly started with me teaching my friends. 😂 I wanted them to understand our inside jokes, pick up on what was being said around them, and of course, know how to communicate when we were out in public and needed to switch the code real quick. 👀

At first, it was just fun. But the more I started teaching, the more I realized I was actually filling a need that was much bigger than I expected.

There were so many people who wanted to speak Kreyòl so they could communicate more naturally with their parents, grandparents, partners, and other loved ones.

I met parents who wanted to make sure their children grew up with the language and culture they grew up with.

I heard from people with Haitian roots whose parents never taught them Kreyòl, and now that they were older, they wanted to reconnect with a part of themselves they felt like they missed out on.

And I kept hearing the same thing:

“I understand Kreyòl… I just can’t speak it.”

That’s when it clicked for me.

I wasn't just teaching people vocabulary. I was helping people communicate, reconnect, and keep a piece of our culture alive. 🇭🇹

That became the purpose behind Kreyòl with Kadoh.

I want you to learn the Kreyòl that helps you actually talk to your people — the jokes, the expressions, the conversations, the culture, and all those little things you can't always learn from an app or textbook.

Because sometimes learning Kreyòl isn't just about becoming bilingual.

Sometimes it's finally being able to have a full conversation with Grandma.

Sometimes it's being able to teach your children the language you wish someone had taught you.

Sometimes it's reconnecting with your roots.

And sometimes… you just need to know when everybody suddenly switches to Kreyòl because the conversation is NOT for everybody. 😂🇭🇹

And THAT is why I do what I do.

Kreyòl with Kadoh is bigger than learning a language. It’s about connection, culture, and keeping Kreyòl going from one generation to the next.
