Language. Culture. Belonging 🇭🇹
Reasons I do What I do
I'm a third-generation Haitian American. I grew up in a Haitian-speaking household, and my mom was an amazing Kreyol speaker who actually taught Kreyòl ESL classes. I grew up hearing the language regularly, so my understanding is there, but it can be inconsistent. I can listen to conversations and sometimes decipher quite a bit, while other times I struggle to follow.
Since my mom passed away, I no longer have her to run to when I have questions or want help with the language. My speaking skills are currently pretty low, and I also don't speak with much of my family anymore. However, almost all of my friends are Haitian, so Kreyol is still very much around me.
I'd really like to strengthen my comprehension and become comfortable actually speaking Kreyol. I wanted to reach out to see what rates and class schedules you currently offer.

Hey!!! think I'm still at a beginner level. I'm really struggling with being able to hear and translate what is being said.

I'm currently learning Haitian Creole and Louisiana Creole for my daughter who is LA Creole..I understand that both languages are different however I know that they both have their similarities. LA Creole is endangered and it is hard to find someone to practice with.
Through Haitian Creole I was able to learn a lot of shared words between the two and was wondering if you can help me with my Kreyòl Ayisyen

Alo!
I would like to learn Kreyol as I work in a school with many Haitian students and families. I have many Haitian friends and love the culture.
I am a principal so I have a very busy schedule, but I would like to make time for this. I know some phrases, I am at a novice level. Thank you, Maria Lappas

Good afternoon, I am interested in learning Haitian creole and having it stick. I have duolingo, pimsleur, even some books to help learn. I believe conversing may truly help. I'd like to know how much you charge for one on one's, and what it entails. I'd say my level is slightly above a beginner. I can pass quizzes on those apps, but as soon as I have to speak in person "m pa pale kreyol".

Hi!
I truly want to invest in my language learning. I'm first generation Haitian and can't let the culture end with me. I've been learning how to cook like a Haitian but truly need to learn the language. I'm from New York and I'm very immersed in Haitian culture, so this is the final boss!
Hope to hear from you! This is my insta as well, to put a name to a face -stephin_on_stones
